Vastu Rishi’s were great Astronomers.

`Vedic Jyotish` is based on Nakshatras Vedang Jyotish propounded by Maharishi Lagadhi is also based on Vedic astrology. Despite some changes the main principles remained the same for thousands of years but when vastu texts were composed, the practical tests and applications bring forward the concept of spring equnox. They found that the orbit of sun is moving away at a certain angle from the celestial equator. Later on the scientists calculated it to be 501/3   vikale per anum.

In the horoscopes the first house is the ascendant and it is the east direction. The reason behind this is that sun rises in this direction but due to the change in the orbit of the sun the angular distance of the orbit from the equator has reached upto 24o.

The vastu list rectified this mistate and hence placed the head of the vastu purush in the direction of the orbit of the Sun. From cardinal east towards Ishaan, the area of Ishaan starts at an angular distance of 221/ and the present orbit of the Sun passes at more than 231/2  from cardinal east.

In the astrological texts the ascendant is considered as the head but in the modern Vastu Chakra the head of the vastu purush is 45o from the acute east. Hence, 221/2  to the North and 221/2  a East of the Ishaan is the region of vastu purusha`s head.

The second house is the neck, the third is the shoulder, fourth chest, fifth is the naval, kindney sixth is the lower abdomen and seventh is the reproductive organs. Later on dreshkan horoscopes were developed and further minute division of the organs of the Kalpurusha was done. Sixth and eighth house denotes the legs. Hence, in Vastu south-west direction is for the legs of the Vastu Purusha.

Now sun never rises in the cardinal east. It happens on 21st March when the orbit of the sun forms an equinox with the celestial equator and the sun enters the northern hemisphere. This equinox is called spring equinox. This is the most important point of northern Ayanansh Indian astrologers promoted `Nirayan` astrological system. Western astrologers could never develop systems like ` Vimshotari` Dashas.

Vastu constructions can not be based on Vedic Kalpurusha but if based on Vastu Purusha supported by Varahmihir it gives surprisingly good results. The flow of energy from Ishaan to Nairatya. If the flow of energy of Vedic Kalpurusha is considered from east to west or north to south then in comparison to vastu purusha they are paralled to the longitude and latitude of the earth. Today the orbit of the sun is at a certain angle at the time of rise and set and this angular distance changes daily.

Western Scientists discovered prism and declared that the sunlight has seven colours whereas this was declared in the vedic era when they called sun as `Saptarashou` or riding a chariot of seven horses. Rahu is not a physical body. The point in the north cutting the orbits of the sun and moon is Rahu and the southern point is ketu. It is said that foundation should not be laid when sun is in Rahu as it creates problems for the owners. This discovery of astrology was related to epics in form of simple couplets.

The Vedic intellects did not change the concept of Kalpurusha even after the discoveries of astronomy. They propounded the authority of vastu purusha separately. The concept behind this was that sun after oscillations on the equator would return to its original axis. The intellects considered motion as the ultimate truth and hence these should be centre point. According to them the Kalpurusha of astrology and vastu purusha of vastu are two different authorities. We should be cautious of some changes in the direction of position of vastu purusha in future.
